How much does solar output vary throughout the year?

Your solar panels will generate free electricity every day of the year, but perform best in spring and summer. Solar PV panels produce energy from sunlight (not heat), with excellent performance on cold, sunny days.

Your solar generation in the peak summer months (June and July) will typically be five times higher than during the lowest winter months (December and January).

As a seasonal guide, a 20.0 kWp system may produce around 525 kWh in January, 1,925 kWh in April, 2,450 kWh in July, and 1,050 kWh in October.
